In response to the growing popularity of gravel riding, SRAM has developed dedicated solutions to meet the needs of the discipline. The XPLR collection, a result of this initiative, offers components tailored to the demands of gravel riding.
SRAM XPLR, Wireless Single-Chainring Drivetrain
The SRAM XPLR collection introduces wireless single-chainring drivetrains optimized for gravel. The XPLR cassettes offer a wide range of gears, with cogs up to 44 teeth for 12-speed versions and 46 teeth for 13-speed versions. This configuration provides smooth gear progression, making climbs on rough terrain easier while maintaining smooth transitions for faster sections. The XPLR rear derailleurs, equipped with AXS technology, ensure fast and precise shifting, tailored to the demands of modern gravel riding.
Innovative Techniques and SRAM Compatibilities
The SRAM XPLR incorporates several notable technical innovations. The rear derailleur uses a "Full Mount" design similar to that of MTB derailleurs, enhancing robustness. This design allows the derailleur to withstand impacts and harsh conditions, a major advantage for gravel cyclists. Additionally, the XPLR drivetrain is compatible with existing AXS components, making upgrades and customizations easier.
