Hardtail MTB: the ideal compromise for many mountain bikers
A hardtail MTB consists of a rigid frame (therefore without rear suspension) and a telescopic fork.
These are the MTB models most often found on paths and trails. They allow for a good compromise between cushioning (and therefore comfort) and weight. For fans of pure efficiency and lightness, discover our selection of hardtail MTBs.
For the rest of the components, the hardtail MTB is close to the full-suspension bike. 100% rigid models are now very rare; they are found on fat bikes, for example, or on cheap MTBs.
26-inch MTB, 27.5-inch MTB, or 29-inch MTB?
Today in the MTB market, there are 3 bike standards: the 26-inch MTB, the 27.5-inch MTB, and the 29-inch MTB, which correspond to the size of the wheels. Depending on your practice and the terrain you use, you will choose the 26-inch MTB for handling precision and the 29-inch MTB for better traction and efficiency on rolling terrain. The 27.5-inch MTB is the middle ground.
Versatility with a hardtail MTB

Full-Suspension MTB: ready for all terrains
A full-suspension MTB is a bike equipped with a shock absorber on the rear part of the frame and a fork. These 2 shock absorbers allow it to handle impacts on the most rugged terrain. These are, for example, bikes used in DH or enduro. You can choose a full-suspension MTB in Carbon or Aluminum depending on your practice and your budget.
Electric MTB (e-MTB): the assistance revolution
The electric MTB, or e-MTB, has totally transformed mountain biking in recent years. Thanks to an integrated motor and a high-performance battery, it allows you to clear the toughest climbs and extend the duration of your outings. Whether you want to get back into the sport, follow fitter friends, or simply multiply the number of descents in a single session, electric assistance is a modern and fun solution. Bosch, Shimano, or Yamaha motors offer natural pedaling sensations while giving you the necessary boost when the slope steepens.
Kids' MTB: for future champions
Learning mountain biking starts at a very young age. A kids' MTB is not simply a reduced version of an adult bike; it is specifically designed with an adapted geometry, shorter brake levers for small hands, and lighter components. From 20 inches to 24 inches, it is essential to choose a size corresponding to the child's morphology to guarantee their safety and riding pleasure on the trails.

The world of MTB is divided into several specific practices, each requiring adapted equipment to maximize pleasure and performance.
Cross-Country (XC): speed and efficiency
The Cross-Country MTB is intended for cyclists who love speed and timed climbs. Absolute priority is given to weight and rigidity; these bikes (often made of carbon) are designed to transform every pedal stroke into acceleration. They feature short suspension travel (often 100mm) to optimize efficiency.
All Mountain: absolute versatility
For those who want a bike capable of doing everything, the All Mountain MTB is the solution. More robust than an XC but lighter than an Enduro, it is at home both uphill and on technical descents thanks to intermediate travel (130mm to 150mm).
Enduro: for technical riding enthusiasts
If your pleasure lies in committed descents and clearing obstacles, the Enduro MTB is made for you. Equipped with long-travel suspension (160mm to 170mm) and powerful brakes, it allows you to fly down the steepest slopes while remaining capable of pedaling back to the summit.
Downhill (DH): pure adrenaline
For ski resorts and bike parks, the Downhill MTB (DH) is the ultimate weapon. Featuring a dual-crown fork and an ultra-strong frame, this bike is exclusively designed for descending. Here, comfort and stability at high speed are the keywords.
Dirt and Fatbike: niche practices
The Dirt bike is a small, robust bike designed for jumps and pump tracks. In contrast, the Fatbike is recognizable by its huge tires. These allow you to ride on soft surfaces like sand or snow with exceptional grip.
