At the core of many Sram cranksets lies DUB (Durable Unified Bottom Bracket) technology. This unique 28.99mm spindle standard offers a unified approach to mounting, ensuring optimal stiffness and increased longevity. The DUB design also enhances sealing against contaminants, guaranteeing smooth and durable operation, regardless of your frame's compatibility. This innovation simplifies compatibility between different brands and bike types, from MTBs to road and gravel bikes, including Wide and Boost options.

Sram Cranksets with Integrated Power Meter

For cyclists keen on measuring and optimizing their performance, Sram integrates high-precision Quarq power meters. DUB-PWR technology, discreetly housed within the DUB spindle, measures the power output of the left leg to calculate total power with an accuracy of +/- 3%. Some high-end models, like those in the Force D2 range, feature power meters fully integrated into the chainrings, measuring the average left and right power with +/- 1.5% accuracy, independent of temperature variations. These systems are compatible with the AXS ecosystem and offer over 400 hours of battery life thanks to a user-replaceable AAA battery, all with IPX7 waterproofing.

Sram MTB Cranksets for Robustness and Lightness

The MTB range of Sram cranksets is designed to withstand the most demanding terrains while offering remarkable lightness. GX Eagle cranksets, available in carbon or forged 7000-series aluminum, feature DUB technology and X-SYNC 2 chainrings. This aggressive tooth profile ensures superior chain retention and reduces mud, gravel, and dirt buildup for smooth and efficient 12-speed pedaling. Models like the X0 T-Type Eagle or XX SL T-Type Eagle, with their aluminum or hollow-core carbon fiber crank arms, represent the pinnacle of lightness and stiffness, often with a 55mm chainline and 174mm Q-Factor for Wide and Boost compatibility. The NX Eagle DUB crankset, with its 6000-series aluminum crank arms and steel chainring, offers a robust and reliable option for 12 speeds.

Sram Road and Gravel Cranksets for Speed and Versatility

For road and gravel, Sram offers cranksets that combine aerodynamics, lightness, and optimized gear ratios. The Red AXS, Force AXS, and Rival AXS groupsets incorporate DUB technology, offering durability and ease of operation. The Force D2 cranksets, available in double chainring configurations (e.g., 48-35 or 50-37 teeth) and 12 speeds, benefit from X-Range technology for more consistent gearing and fast shifting. Their carbon crank arms contribute to minimal weight. For gravel, the Force 1 XPLR crankset with its 42-tooth single chainring is compatible with 12 and 13 speeds, offering a 47.5mm wide chainline to accommodate wider tires. The Apex 1 DUB Wide cranksets, also single chainring and aluminum, are perfect for gravel adventures with their widened chainline and longer DUB spindle, compatible with various rear spacings.

Sram Bottom Brackets: Universal Compatibility

Sram DUB Bottom Brackets

Sram DUB bottom brackets are specifically designed for 28.99mm DUB spindles. They are available in several standards to fit a wide variety of frames:

DUB PressFit bottom brackets are compatible with frames having an internal diameter of 41mm and shell widths of 89/92mm (for MTB) or 86.5mm (for road).
DUB BSA bottom brackets are threaded models, compatible with shell widths of 68-73mm and a frame internal diameter of 34.75mm, ideal for traditional threaded frames.

Made from aluminum and steel, these bottom brackets ensure a rigid and durable interface for optimal power transfer.

Sram GXP Bottom Brackets

Sram also offers GXP bottom brackets for cranksets using the GXP spindle (24-22mm). The PressFit BB92 GXP bottom bracket, for example, is compatible with 89.5/92mm wide shells and a frame internal diameter of 41mm. These bottom brackets ensure compatibility with Sram/Truvativ GXP standards, providing a reliable solution for older or specific drivetrains.
